Welding & Metal Fabrication at MakerCafe

Metal is one of the most satisfying materials to work with – strong, flexible, and full of creative potential. At MakerCafe, we give you the tools and space to turn raw steel into real projects, whether you’re building something practical, artistic, or completely experimental.

Our workshop is equipped for hands-on metal fabrication and welding, making it easy to go from idea to finished object. We have a MIG welder that’s well suited for beginners and experienced makers alike, allowing you to join steel parts quickly and reliably. From frames and brackets to sculptures and custom furniture, MIG welding opens the door to countless projects.

To prepare your materials, we offer a metal chop saw for accurate, clean cuts through steel and other metals. This makes it simple to size your pieces properly before welding or drilling. For shaping, cleaning, and finishing, we have angle grinders with different discs for cutting, grinding, and smoothing welds. These tools are essential for getting your metal parts ready and giving your project a professional finish.

Drilling is just as important as welding in many metal projects, and our drill setup allows you to make precise holes for bolts, fasteners, and mounting hardware. Whether you’re assembling a mechanical part or creating a decorative piece, having proper drilling tools makes a huge difference in accuracy and strength.

All welding work takes place on a dedicated welding table, designed for stability and safety. We also provide welding helmets, clamps, and a wide selection of hand tools to hold parts in place, align components, and work comfortably. Good clamping and positioning are key to strong welds, and we make sure you have what you need to do the job right.

MakerCafe is about more than just machines – it’s about making metalwork accessible. You don’t need your own garage full of tools or years of experience to get started here. Our space is designed so that beginners can learn safely, and more experienced makers can work efficiently. Whether you’re repairing a bike rack, building a custom shelf, welding a prototype, or experimenting with artistic metalwork, you’ll find the setup and support you need.

Metal fabrication also pairs perfectly with other tools in the workshop. You can combine welded parts with laser-cut elements, 3D printed components, wood, or leather to create truly unique hybrid projects. This mix of techniques is what makes MakerCafe a creative playground rather than just a workshop.

At MakerCafe, we believe welding should feel empowering, not intimidating. That’s why we focus on clear guidance, proper safety equipment, and a welcoming environment where learning is part of the process. You can come with a clear plan, or just an idea and some curiosity – both are equally welcome.
